What not to post on Facebook

In the present era it is of great importance that we are careful in everything we do on social mediachannels. With the growing rate of cyber crime, forgery and fraud one needs to be very cautious. One cannot neglect and take things lightly.
While using the various social networking sites all of us tend to share a lot of data while creating profiles and even at the later stages that include status updates, personal or direct messages, posts on various groups and other updates. The guidelines that should be followed are generally overlooked by people.
Facebook is one of those platforms that have the maximum users amongst all social media platforms, it is a social media giant, a hub for all personal and business oriented activities. As such one needs to keep in mind certain rules and regulations to continue using Facebook happily in the future.
 1.      Personal Details
While creating a new account all social networking platforms available require certain personal details so that they can verify that you are not an automated bot and that you actually exist. Of course you will find many loopholes to the same but still one needs to enter certain details. Inputting personal details poses no threat or worry if they are properly managed by altering the security settings. making personal details private enables the users to enjoy the features of Facebook with no harms intended at all.
2.      Status updates
There are people who want to tell the world about their every action through status updates.Too many updates and posts tend to annoy people. Not everybody is interested in every minute details of an individuals life.  Nobody is interested in knowing what you had for lunch, what is your favourite song, your pet’s name and about a fight with a fellow mate is a complete no. Update when required and it will result in many likes and comments on your posts.
 3.      Check-in Updates
Now this is something that is trending these days. Every other individual checks in the place they are currently visiting to tell all their friends about their whereabouts. In a way it is a good feature provided. It has helped people meet unexpectedly, bumped into one another. But, many unwanted people too have taken undue advantage of this innovative option made available to users on facebook. Many people try to reach out to users by their check-in updates that is not very well appreciated.
4.      Friend Requests
Since the inception of these social networking websites every sensible individual around us has told us not to send or accept friend requests to unknown people. One never knows the intention of the person on the other side. It is advised to add people whom you know personally and are not your friend’s friend or someone you had seen once at some place.
Facebook is undoubtedly a very useful platform but it is also infested with many negatives that are in the form of cyber crimes and one needs to take utmost care of the same.
